The MIT480/2 Series insulation and continuity testers replace the existing MIT480 Series and are designed specifically for the telecommunications and cable testing markets. The new instruments feature a redesigned housing, rear bracket, and six-cell battery compartment, along with a separate fuse connector. All instruments are overmolded for enhanced protection and meet IP54 weatherproofing.

The MIT480/2 Series utilizes a three-terminal measurement design, accepting test leads A, B, and E (TIP, RING, and earth/ground). The front panel A-B-E (T-R-G) button allows you to select the test pair and confirm your selection on the display. Individual test leads can be measured without disconnecting the test leads.

  • Insulation Testing It offers insulation test voltages of 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V, and 1000V, with a variable output range allowing adjustment in 10V steps from 10V to 1000V. The insulation resistance measuring range is up to 200 GΩ.
  • Continuity Testing The continuity test range is 0.01Ω - 999kΩ (0 - 1000kΩ on the analogue scale), and the test current can be 200mA (0.01Ω - 9.99Ω) or 20mA (10.0Ω - 99.9Ω). It has lead zero compensation and an auto-hold function for continuity tests.
  • Voltage and Frequency Measurement It can measure AC voltage from 10mV to 600V trms sinusoidal (40Hz to 400Hz) and DC voltage from 0 to 600V. The frequency measurement range is 45Hz - 450Hz.
