The base instrument operates from 5 kHz to 1 GHz, and its frequency range can be upgraded to 3 GHz via software keycode options.
It is equipped with a 10.1-inch color WXGA display (1366 × 768 pixels). This display size is 26% larger, and the resolution is 160% higher than other instruments in its class.
The R&S®FPC1000 supports wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. It can be remotely managed via Instrument View for Windows or via the Mobileview app available for iOS and Android devices.
Without a preamplifier, the DANL is typically < -142 dBm. With the preamplifier enabled, it drops to < -158 dBm, and is typically around -165 dBm.
The instrument features a built-in VSWR bridge, a tracking generator, an independent CW signal generator, and operates as a one-port vector network analyser capable of displaying Smith charts.
Without feet, the unit dimensions are 396 mm × 147 mm × 178 mm and it weighs 3 kg, making it a highly compact and portable solution. It is also equipped with a lithium battery.
